Bruce James Coleman a.k.a the poetic preacher is not your average
rapper. When he grab the mic there is no cursing, degrading women or talking
about how much bling he has or cars he got. What seperate "The Poetic
Preacher" from other rappers is that he rap about God Almighty. C.E.O and
founder of Eternal Sunshine Records and Christian Rap World Wide
Collaboration Bruce James Coleman was born and raised in New Orleans Louisiana
in 1981. He took heed to poetry in a creative writing class and that is where
his poetry journey began but he turned his poetry writing into 16 bar verses and
choruses for God. He won first place in several poetry contests and appeared on
a local tv show called "Teen Expression" reciting one of his poems. Bruce didn't
always rap for God, after graduating he went back to smoking weed and drinking
alcohol and also did some jail time. He join the navy and thought that would
help him get his life together but from there he started drinking heavily. He
started searching for something to fill that void and he turn to the muslim
faith and became a muslim. The void was still there and he realized Jesus was
real and that Jesus was the only way. He switch his faith over to Jesus and has
not look back since. The poetic preacher has many collaborations under his belt
with many christian artist and is a big supporter of the christian rap movement.
His first album " Servant of the Heavenly Father" was released in October 2012
and his first mix tape "I'm a saint marching in". The mix tape of righteousness
volume 1 was released January 2013. Be on the lookout for his upcoming album "An
Admiral in the Nay of Righteousness". The release date is May 14,
2014.
